Abzeco undertakes ecological assessment and advisory projects in a very constructive manner, seeking to advise clients of their ecological assets, their potential obligations under applicable laws and regulations and the means for achieving objectives whilst minimising impacts on ecosystems.
In recent projects Abzeco has been able to;
- design and specify woodland restoration and wetland construction in an industrial setting, creating an attractive vista for the development of a restuarant, whilst achieving vegetation offset and water-sensitive urban design objectives,
- satisfy stringent DSE and Council environmental requirements (with regard to intact vegetation retention and water-sensitive urban design objectives) to reduce drainage costs and achieve timely issuance of a permit for a recreational facility on a flood plain,
- apply a high-tech approach to mapping non-production areas of forest (using hand-held GIS and computerised aerial photograph interpretation), allowing very large areas of land to be rapidly assessed at greatly reduced costs than previously,
- develop a thorough offsets program sufficiently appealing to regulatory authorities to allow a developer of industrial land to realise an economically valuable development opportunity.
